Weekend Project - Jeep Mod Phase 1

This weekend I decide to finally install the CB radio I forgot I bought about 4 years ago and found when unpacking a box in the garage. I bought it for offroad trail ridding as most 4x4 clubs require you have one. I did actually go on a couple trips back in Ohio and am planning on doing more now that the jeep is almost paid off. It only took 3 trips to radio shack and one trip to Home Depot to complete the project. I also added the following tools to my collection: step down drill bit, new shop light, a soddering iron and an SWR meter. I still need to mount the control box in a permanent location under the dash, the quick disconnect for the handheld unit somewhere on the dash and the mic hanger but I wanted to drive around with it loose for a few days to be sure of where it all would work best. The original tires are getting worn so phase two will be a lift, new wheeles and tires. Hopefully within the next month providing the final 06 tax numbers from the accountant arent too bad. Here are some pictures I took of the process.

Does that mean you have one of those real big antennas on ur jeep?

J/K

Its a 4 ft Firestick Firefly antenna sitting on a spirng and quick disconnect, you can see the bottom of it on the mount in the first picture. Its all black and sticks up about a foot and a half above the roof, not too obnoxious.

Get ready for hours of obscene trucker speak and the insane ramblings of lonely cb nerds.

When are we going to see phase 2?
